Jimmy Buffett, the infamous bard of island escape, has away at age 76.



 Jimmy Buffett is an American singer-songwriter and businessman known for his music that blends elements of folk, country, rock and Caribbean influences. He gained widespread popularity and a devoted fan base often referred to as Parrot Heads through songs like Margaritaville and Fins. These songs, among others, celebrate a laid back beach and island inspired lifestyle.



Buffett music often revolves around themes of escapism tropical getaways and the pursuit of a carefree existence. His songs frequently feature references to margaritas, sailing and beachside relaxation making him an iconic figure in the trop rock genre.



In addition to his music career Jimmy Buffett has ventured into various business endeavors including restaurants a line of Margaritaville branded products and merchandise. His brand encompasses a wide range of products, from clothing and footwear to food and beverages.



Over the years Buffett entrepreneurial success combined with his music career has led to considerable financial wealth making him a millionaire many times over. The Caribbean and the Gulf Coast particularly Key West in Florida, served as major sources of inspiration for Buffett music. Jimmy Buffett passed away on the night of September 1st as announced in a statement released on his social media pages. He was surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs at the time of his passing. While the statement did not specify a cause of death it mentioned that he lived his life like a song until the very end and would be deeply missed by many.



Earlier in May Buffett was briefly hospitalized after a trip to the Bahamas. He later posted on social media that he had to stop in Boston for a check up and ended up in the hospital to address immediate health issues. He expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support and well wishes from his fans. Buffett did not publicly disclose the nature of his health issues at the time
